Speed Reading: Passage 1 of 5

Tip

The ACT contains:

40 Questions in 35 Minutes.

4 Passage Topics

  • Prose Fiction
  • Social Science
  • Humanities
  • Natural Science

The test has four passages, each based on the general topics mentioned above.  Each passage has ten questions.  In each passage, the questions get progressively harder. This simply means that question one is the easiest and question ten is the hardest.

Because you have four passages to read and answer questions and you have thirty-five minutes for the entire test, each passage should take you a little longer than eight and a half minutes to finish.
